back to basics

Most of our readers have been buying our magazine for a long time and are very experienced. But some of you may have just started crocheting and it will be all a bit daunting. There’s more than the usual offerings you might expect from a yarn show at Edinburgh Yarn Festival. Besides workshops, demos, stalls and artisan shopping opportunities, there are lots of social events to get you mixing it…

Top tip For bigger chicks, just change the yarn weight to aran, chunky or super chunky Well, isn’t this a chirpy pair? This duo are all dressed up in their best outfits, ready for spring! The charm of these simple chicks is all in the details – the boy chick’s blue waistcoat and wellies, the girl’s daffodil headpiece and eyelashes. Indeed, they’re just the thing for displaying with a bouquet of daffodils! Little ones will love them, so why not get them involved in picking out yarn colours for the chick’s clothes?
