While Veteran’s Day falls on November 11th, we proudly salute our veterans and the Quilt of Valor® Foundation all year with a patriotic design in every issue of Love of Quilting. (I made mine 3" in diameter.) Then sew a 1½" wide ribbon around the outside edge. Barbara Fell Sun Prairie, WI PEDAL IN PLACE I use a piece of shelf liner to keep my foot pedal from sliding across the floor. Just put it under your pedal and sew away! It works on both hardwood and carpeting. Janice Kolar Clinton Township, MI SHORT END OF THE STICKS A pair of chop sticks is useful for sewing. I use one stick to turn and push out corners. The other I sharpen to a point with a pencil sharpener and use as a…

I took a class from Cindy Hathaway shortly after Links was featured in the September/October 2012 issue of Love of Quilting. After a pause for numerous graduation, wedding, and baby quilt gifts, I finally finished Links this winter, and I will be keeping it for myself! Ellen Bosworth Guilford, NY I have always wanted to try a pickle dish pattern after seeing a very complex antique quilt from my husband’s family. Alice’s Pickle Dish in Love of Quilting March/April 2012 and Wedding Rings in March April 2019 inspired me to tackle my first curved piecing. My nephew Patrick and his bride Megan loved the result in their nautical-inspired wedding theme colors. Challenging and fun! Carolyn Golden Edmond, OK I couldn’t wait to make Flying to the Stars from Love of Quilting March/ April 2017 for…
