Joy in the Age of COVID-19 This week is my one-year anniversary as editor in chief of People. I never expected to celebrate this milestone amid a global pandemic, but here I am typing this at my kitchen table after 10 days of self-isolation and only interacting with my husband and our two cats. Staying home is critical right now; we all must do our part to stop the spread of the virus. Despite protests from his estranged children Ronan and Dylan Farrow, Woody Allen’s autobiography, Apropos of Nothing, was released by a new publisher on March 23—and it’s already stirring up controversy. The director, 84, goes on the attack against his ex Mia Farrow, details his affair with her adopted daughter Soon-Yi Previn, now his wife (“We couldn’t keep our hands off each other”), and says Dylan’s allegations that he molested her when she was 7 are “a total fabrication.” He also writes about his romances (see sidebar, next page) and repeatedly comments on women’s looks, even calling his mother “the homeliest.” The book adds another bitter chapter to a family drama that’s been stewing for 28 years, since Allen’s 1992 split from Mia Farrow. Dylan and Ronan have both condemned the book,…

When Hawaii Five-O star Daniel Dae Kim announced on Instagram on March 19 that he had tested positive for coronavirus, he showed his sense of humor hadn’t been affected. “It’s nice to be mentioned in the same breath as Tom Hanks and Idris Elba,” Kim, 51, said of the two actors, who both tested positive before him. “I guess I’m in some pretty good company.” The first high-profile stars to go public with their diagnoses, Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, both 63, now “feel better” as they recuperate in Australia, Hanks tweeted March 22. Elba, 47, announced on Twitter on March 16 that he had tested positive for the virus but felt okay. “I’m worried people aren’t talking to each other about it,” he said, encouraging fans to take…
