I’ve never been more excited for the holiday season—and after the sweltering Oklahoma summer we had this year, I’ve never been more eager to wear sweaters! Back in August, when I was sweating and parched just walking the Drummond dogs down our road, I remember thinking, “Just hold on a little longer, Ree… before you know it, it’ll be winter and you’ll be freezing again.” Well, that time has finally, blessedly arrived. After living in California for a few years as a young adult, I grew to appreciate the four seasons we get to experience here in the middle of the country. What has been the highlight of your career so far? —Janet Tahal-Hewitt, Wilmington, DE It’s so hard to say, because I try to live in the moment and appreciate the different things I’ve gotten to experience. I just did my first in-person book tour in a while, and those are always really special for me because I get to meet the folks who actually read my website, watch my show, use my products and so forth. Painted Bow WHAT YOU’LL NEED • 1" flat paintbrush• Red acrylic ink 1 Cut a piece of butcher paper large enough to wrap your box. Place the box in the center of the paper and mark the box’s edges so you know how much room you have for your design. 2 Lightly dip the brush in the ink and paint one vertical line and one horizontal line so they cross in the center of the paper. When executives at Food Network asked if I would consider appearing in their first-ever scripted TV movie, I thought they had accidentally reached out to the wrong person!
