What an amazing year we have had this year with our sporting successes. The Black Caps made their way to an incredible nail-biting final of the Cricket World Cup earning a silver medal and the Silver Ferns took out the Netball World Cup for the first time since 2003. (read more about that on our Sports Buzz page) Thanks as always for your wonderful entries and all your correspondence. We loved reading the stories about the things that made you scared... spider, clowns, cars, loneliness and even girls! holly’s healthy banana bread

You will need: 2 eggs1/2 cup coconut or olive oil1/3 cup honey or maple syrup1/4 cup milk or greek yogurt1 tsp vanilla extract1 3/4 cup flour1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)1 tsp baking soda1/2 cup choc chips or walnuts Steps: 1. Preheat the oven to 180° 2. In a medium bowl, whisk flour, cinnamon, baking soda and a pinch of salt. 3. In a large bowl, whisk eggs, oil, honey, milk and vanilla for 2 minutes. 4. Stir in bananas, flour mixture and choc chips or walnuts. 5. Pour batter into greased pan and sprinkle with some more cinnamon, raw sugar or banana slices. 6. Bake for 50-55 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. This city is in the middle of the country, 20 hours drive to one coast and 26 hours drive to the other. English is the main spoken language in this country and Spanish is second. It snows here during winter, which is in the Christmas time. It has a huge park called Dinosaur Ridge where you can dig for fossils. This city is famous for NOT hosting the Olympics. It removed its bid for the 1976 winter Olympics because the city wanted to protect the natural environment. It took two flights to get here – one 12 hours, the other 1hr 45minutes.
