It’s a place you can go not knowing anyone and leave with a friend for life. For centuries, pubs have been a vital part of community life and the UK is famous for its great British pubs. But new figures show many are now struggling to survive… or have already closed their doors for good. Linda Nolan went public in March with the devastating news that her incurable secondary breast cancer has spread to her brain and, as she described it, she felt she was now ‘preparing for the inevitable’.
