Noting that on Friday the Constitutional Court dismissed the application of the Electoral Commission of SA (IEC) to postpone the elections, ordering that elections should be scheduled between October 27 and November 1, Ipsos said it had undertaken a CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing) study between August 16 and 20. The two parties had squared off over whether a magistrate that presided in his pre-extradition hearing committed a grave irregularity against Tucker. The restoration of Britain’s iconic “Big Ben” tower at the Houses of Parliament has moved closer to completion, with the return of the hands on its famous clock, now restored to their original Prussian blue colour. Riyadh: A Saudi man was executed in Dammam yesterday on charges of terrorism and weapons smuggling, the Interior Ministry said. The man was found guilty of belonging to a terrorist cell and “targeting security personnel by shooting at them”, it said. He was also charged “with smuggling weapons in and out of the country and of being a member of a terrorist cell with the aim of destabilising national security”. LONDON: Leading shipping associations have proposed creating a global levy on carbon emissions from ships to help speed up the industry’s efforts to go greener. The former mayor of Zululand District Municipality, she founded the NFP as a breakaway from the IFP in 2011. Her move cost her former party when NFP became kingmaker in hung municipalities in KwaZulu-Natal, and later dislodged the IFP as the official opposition in the provincial legislature. As a litre of petrol costs an average of R16, close to R50 million has been stolen in less than six months this financial year. The government parastatal said it was battling rampant attacks on its fuel pipeline by thieves, looking to steal fuel which is threatening the country’s economy and leading to loss of lives. Du Toit, who was a stand-out for the Boks during the 2019 World Cup in Japan, was substituted early in the second Test against the British & Irish Lions after being tipped in a late tackle by Scotland international Duhan van der Merwe in the second Test. While he continued on the field for some time, the flanker looked to be in clear discomfort and ultimately left the field.
