IF ONE requires proof that Gwede Mantashe wouldn’t recognise true democracy if it bit him on the backside, his threat to expel MPs who vote for Cyril Ramaphosa to face impeachment, is that proof.
His threat, therefore, made the vote pointless.
As usual, an open ballot serves no real purpose because dissenters will always fear ostracisation from their own party, or even expulsion.
Only secret ballots reveal the truth. So, it’s toe the party line, or else!
Threats like that are those of a dictator, Mr Mantashe.
And no, the party doesn’t come first: the country comes first.
It’s unfortunate that not only do you not understand the concept of democracy, it seems that most of those who vote for the ANC don’t either.
