MEAT PRICES MIXED
International: New Zealand steers traded higher at NZ$557/head and cows traded higher at NZ$408/head.US beef traded mostly lower: topside traded higher at US$292,69/cwt, rump was higher at US$406,22/cwt, strip loin fell to US$579,07/cwt, chuck traded slightly lower at US$298,34/cwt, brisket traded lower at US$256,08/cwt, and the carcass price was US$342,45/cwt. The US national beef herd stood at 30,5 million head on 1 July, which is 2,5% higher than the corresponding period last year.
Domestic: Local prices were mixed. The various meat prices were as follows: Class A decreased 2,63% to 32,89/kg, Class C increased 3,58% to R28,10/kg, and contract prices fell 2,97% to R32,99kg.
