The 2019/2020 season has produced varied results for the table grape industry, with the Berg River and Olifants River production regions delivering good crops, and the Hex River and northern production regions suffering some losses due to rain damage.
This was according to Clayton Swart, spokesperson of the South African Table Grape Industry (SATI), who said that SATI had had to lower its initial crop estimate twice due to rain damage.
The current crop estimate for the season was between 59,6 million and 64,7 million 4,5kg-cartons.
