History The legendary boozer is the heart of the Street, and has been run by a roll call of cobbles icons – including snobby original boss Annie Walker and her husband Jack, brassy Bet Lynch and hubby Alec Gilroy, Fred Elliott, Jack and Vera Duckworth, Natalie Barnes, Liz McDonald, Stella Price, Steve and Michelle McDonald, Peter Barlow and Toyah Battersby, among others. Though regarded as a familiar, welcoming watering hole, there’s much more to the Rovers than cosy hot pots and supping in the snug.
