Last weekend’s Silverstone MotoGP was the best in a very long time, slash, ever? The Z1000SX manages to retain a healthy dose of performance spirit within a very competent and relaxed road bike with modern electronics, and even has touring potential. It’s not perfect, the vibrations are irritating and it is thirsty, but it is considerably better than the fundamentally flawed Suzuki – which is ruined by terrible fuelling, a poor shock and limited practicality. The British Grand Prix will remain at Silverstone next year after further set-backs for the Circuit of Wales mean the multi-million pound Ebbw Vale complex will not be ready in time to host the event. The project is awaiting a decision from the Welsh Government as to whether they will accept revised funding proposals to underwrite the private investments necessary to see the circuit built. This one-off MV Agusta F4Z has been built by high-end Italian styling house Zagato for a Japanese collector who already owns a string of rare Zagato cars. The bike is based on an MV Agusta F4 RR, the highest specification bike in the firm’s range, and MV have not disclosed what it cost to build. And with no plans to put this bike into production, it’s unlikely that we’ll ever know. This is truly a one-off built to the exact specifications of the owner – who seems keen to remain anonymous.
