The Versys’ 118bhp 1043cc inline four and aluminium frame first appeared in 2010 on the c1000 streetfighter, then 2011’s c1000Sa sports tourer before the first Versys 1000 in 2012. In 2015, the Versys was restyled along the sharp, aggressive lines of the Sa. But it was always the budget choice. Until now; you can either have the (still budget) base model Versys, with ride-by-wire, lean-angle traction control, cruise control and cornering ABS for £11,345, or the SE with full semi-active, TFT, heated-grip bells and whistles for £14,545. Or you can even have the Versys 1000 SE Grand Tourer, with panniers and topbox, for £16,045.
