We’re in a back-to-school frenzy getting two kids off to college. I always make their most-loved meals before they go. After we help them move in, I have time to indulge in some of my favorite activities: The first thing I do after school starts is send my kids care packages filled with their go-to food items, a gift card and a homemade treat. Vanilla Yogurt Ambrosia 1 can (20 oz.) pineapple tidbits, drained • 1 can (11 oz.) mandarin oranges, drained • 1 1/2 cups green grapes • 1 cup miniature marshmallows • 1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut • 3/4 cup vanilla yogurt • 1/4 cup chopped pecans, toasted • In a serving bowl, combine the pineapple, oranges, grapes, marshmallows and coconut. I like to cover loaves with colored plastic wrap to give as gifts. —Sharon Walker, Huntington Station, NY 1/4 cup butter, softened 11/3 cups sugar, divided 1 large egg 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 cup buttermilk 1 Tbsp. ground cinnamon 1.
