The First Order is the ultimate power in the galaxy after it wiped out the capital worlds of the New Republic in a single, powerful attack. The Resistance, commanded by veteran rebel hero General Leia Organa, is diminished but unbeaten and not without hope. Facing the might of the army of the First Order, Jedi Master Luke Skywalker has briefly emerged from his exile to prove that hope exists. rey force of nature

DAISY RIDLEY REY What was it like working with J.J. Abrams on The Rise of Skywalker? While filming The Force Awakens I was very tense and nervous. But because I worked with him on that movie, our relationship was a bit different this time around. I didn’t feel as tense and nervous; I felt very comfortable. How does it feel to have The Rise of Skywalker as the conclusion to the saga? It’s a very worthy ending. J.J. and co-writer Chris Terrio are so knowledgeable about Star Wars, and they are both huge fans as well. Everyone felt good about what we were doing, and we all had a genuine feeling of joy about what we accomplished. I think that carried over onto the screen. Talk about your journey from The Force Awakens until now, specifically…

finn hero of the resistance

JOHN BOYEGA FINN How did you feel when you realized The Rise of Skywalker is the final movie in a saga spanning more than 40 years? It’s funny… Initially, I didn’t connect the script to the Skywalker saga at the moment I was reading it. For me it was just the end of our five-year journey, our little contribution to this big story. It felt weird knowing we were going to bring it to a conclusion. How does it feel to have been a part of this latest series of Star Wars films? Thinking back on The Force Awakens, you realize everything has led to this moment. It feels nice to be one of the main characters in this story. I mean, wow! It’s been a blessing and an honor. While making these three movies, how…

poe dameron the hotshot

OSCAR ISAAC POE DAMERON After more than 40 years, the Skywalker saga is coming to an end. How do you feel about the story J.J. Abrams and Chris Terrio have crafted for the final episode? What J.J. and Chris did for this movie was a monumental task. They found a way to encompass the Skywalker saga in a meaningful way to make it feel both surprising and inevitable. When I first read the script I was pretty emotional because there was a finality to it, and it’s hard to image Star Wars could ever have that. One of the most amazing things about the Star Wars galaxy, which is what George Lucas did from the very get-go, was to make it feel like there were events happening outside of the movies. Every prop…

rose tico the commander

KELLY MARIE TRAN ROSE TICO How did it feel to be in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, reprising your role as Rose Tico? It was really overwhelming. While it’s the culmination of so many things, it reminded me always that this will never get old. There were always new things to be fascinated by. And it was sort of like that the entire way through. The Resistance took a little beating in the last movie. The Resistance is always taking a beating (chuckles). Where do we find Rose and her comrades as the movie opens? Everything is pretty dire. In The Last Jedi, Rose was so full of hope. So from that standpoint, I don’t feel she’s the same person. But also her role has also changed in this movie. She went from being this mechanic…

lando calrissian the charmer

BILLY DEE WILLIAMS LANDO CALRISSIAN There’s been quite a buzz, quite a warm reception, from the fans regarding Lando Calrissian’s return. Did you have any reservations about returning to reprising the role? I had no reservations. None whatsoever. At times I wondered if Lando would return. So I was very happy about being asked to come back. You have had a very unique journey with Star Wars, seeing as you were part of the original trilogy. What did it mean to you to be part of the franchise back during its inception? At that time there were all these new, young, extraordinary filmmakers emerging, such as Steven Spielberg, Francis Ford Coppola, and Martin Scorsese. I was really looking forward to working with George Lucas. As an actor, you are always looking forward to doing interesting…
