THE BOOK PLAYING WITH PURPOSE Discover the evolution of over 35 years work by one of the most notable modern quilt artists of our time, Victoria Findlay Wolfe. Pore over the pages of this beautiful retrospective from Stash Books, featuring more than 130 of Wolfe’s inspiring quilts, such as Summer of Stars (above). We love the stories behind the patchworks as well as the essays about Victoria’s creative journey, which have us inspired to adopt her attitude of playful experimentation. Victoria Findlay Wolfe’s Playing with Purpose (C&T Publishing) is available now www.ctpub.com THE SHOP MINDTHEGAP This unique, luxury brand is best known for its quirky and distinctive wallpapers, but MINDTHEGAP’s artistic flair extends to soft furnishings too. BEGINNER’S LUCK SKILL BUILDING It’s rare to find a book that teaches beginner sewists techniques for a range of disciplines, including embroidery, sewing, patchwork and quilting. Susan Beal wanted to write the sort of book that she would have loved to have had when she started sewing. Sharing techniques for basic embroidery stitches, simple quilt blocks and inspiration for finished quilts, this book will teach you everything you need to know to get you started. You will learn how to insert an invisible zip, make an embroidery sampler, create a patchwork drawstring bag and piece together your blocks to make a quilt, as well as many other things. Susan also teaches on Creativebug, so not only can you buy the book, but you can also watch her teaching from the comfort of…
