RIP CEDRIC WRIGHT I have read and subscribed to CAR virtually all my life; therefore, I was deeply saddened to learn about the death of Cedric Wright, under whose leadership the magazine established itself as the most authoritative motoring title in this country. I have read most issues that were published when he was the editor and my collection dates to approximately the early 1960s. I miss some of the features that were regularly published, like the owners’ and test reports included with just about every road test from 1966 to approximately ‘75. I would like to see the cars which enter your long-term fleet be subjected to a full road test as part of their long-term test, because I am sure that most readers would prefer to see performance figures and a…

Bentley’s centenary celebrations are less about sentiment and more about looking to the future, so its vision of an electric GT for 2035 is more dramatic and crushingly powerful than many of its fossil fuel-burning brethren. MIGHTY, FINE If the EXP 100 GT’s svelte styling doesn’t make enough of an impact, its proportions certainly will. It measures 5,9 metres long, 2,4 metres wide and features two-metre-long doors that scissor upwards to a height of no less than three metres. The three-door Mini SE is the firm’s first proper EV, featuring a 32,6 kWh lithium-ion battery feeding an electric motor worth 135 kW and 270 N.m. This unit can be charged via a domestic wall socket, fast-charger wallbox or public charging station, and offers an operating range of up to 270 km. It also helps the SE retain the nippiness for which its stablemates are renowned, with 0-100 km/h arriving in 7,3 seconds and a 150 km/h top speed.
