I love the beauty of rainbows, the tonal complexities of Fair Isle, the pure fun of kaleidoscopes and the wonderful new wave of variegated yarns hitting the shelves. Of course, not everyone subscribes to colour therapy, and I completely understand their scepticism, but from a personal perspective, I love the way I feel when I add a vibrant scarf to a plain outfit – it gives me a skip in my step, a smile on my face and sometimes a little more confidence for the day,…

Meet Christine – sock designer and knitter extraordinare, and one of our columnists too! Up early or slow to rise? Usually quite early – the alarm goes off around 6.30am on weekdays. First job of the day? Feeding our cats and dog. They’re very good at reminding me if I forget! Mid-morning pick-me-up? A cup of tea and a sweet treat – my favourites are shortbread biscuits, but I do love cake too. Leisurely lunchtime? No, I usually eat on the go. I must get better at having a proper break! Post-lunch priorities? Usually something that will appear on my blog at some point. Fave way to sit back and take five? Always with my current sock project in my hands – and usually with a brew (and sometimes a biscuit). Clocking-off time? That’s quite hard to…
