MEAT PRICES MIXED
International: US prices were mostly higher and traded as follows: topside was higher at US$296,86/cwt, rump lower at US$406,06/cwt, strip loin higher at US$579,23/cwt, chuck slightly higher at US$299,14/cwt, brisket slightly higher at US$256,19/cwt, and the carcass price was US$343,04/ cwt. New Zealand steers and cows traded higher at NZ$561/head and NZ$422/head respectively. Australia continues to be the largest supplier of beef to China with a 38% market share.
Domestic: Local prices were mixed, with meat prices as follows: Class A prices decreased 2,85% to R32,37/kg, Class C prices increased 2,52% to R28,46/kg, and contract prices fell 2,14% to R32,89/kg.
