Born in Golden, Colorado, on December 18, 1869, Dean Wallace King began designing sights and other improvements for firearms well before the turn of the century and established his business in Denver with most sights designed for the popular rifles of the time. Around 1915, King relocated to San Francisco where he added sights for popular handguns as well as super smooth short-action trigger systems, offset hammers, custom grips and more. The flagship of King’s revolver sight systems was the “Colt-King Super Target,” which incorporated a full-length ventilated rib similar to those found on shotguns.
