WHILE CLEARING my desk during our editorial year-end office sweep, I started thinking about which of this year’s issues has meant the most to me. After narrowing my search down to three, I can easily say that the ‘Painting an Aircraft’ feature on the February issue takes the number-one spot. Spots two and three go to the striking ‘Flying Through HEL’ cover on the May issue, and the venerable DC-3 shot on the September cover. Talking about the DC-3, I just had one of the most memorable aviation enthusiast experiences of my life. Our Airways Spot & Greet event in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, was a complete success.
