Eight years ago, on January 22, 2014, a fine gentleman with the most impressive wisdom about anything related to the world of commercial aviation told me: “Here we are, I’m signing away my life to you.” That was the late John Wegg—the founder of this beautiful publication—who numerous times reminded me that he would only relinquish control over ‘his’ Airways to someone who had the same ‘kick’, ‘motivation’, and ‘overwhelming passion’ that he’d had when he had printed his first issue in March/April 1994.
