I know I probably say this about every season, but fall is one of my favorites. I am a person who thrives on change. Fall is a special time of year when everything around us seems to change. Our schedules change as kids head back to school after summer break. The time changes and we fall back an hour and cool, dark nights take over the late afternoon sun. The leaves change color as the temperatures drop. Scented candles seem to make their way out of storage closets, flannel sheets find their way back on our beds, and making homemade soups is a favorite weekend pastime to store for the cold season. A homemade hostess gift is always appreciated There are many times in my life I have looked around and realized that we have lost the art of so many things. When I was growing up my mom would deliver presents on May Day, and would hand deliver ‘thank you’ cards. One of the many things I feel in life that are a lost art are hostess/host gifts. If you don’t know what that is. That’s okay. It’s a gift you bring to the person who put on the party. A “thank you for the invite” gift. I grew up with this being a very normal thing, but as I got older, and my generation started being the party throwers, host/hostess gifts were gone. We can sum it up in three words: Keep it Simple. Yes, it really is that easy. We’ve planned elaborate events for hundreds of people, and small pop-up parties for 2, and we have found that no matter what, the party is always a success when we keep it simple. We have often talked about creating a color palette for your party. It's a great way to get fantastic shots that all mix well and are aesthetically pleasing. We love the soft, yet bold colors of fall that are warm and inviting. • 7 oz brewed coffee• 1 tbsp brown sugar• ½ tsp milk or cream• ½ tsp vanilla extract• ½ oz Torani Classic Caramel syrup• Whipped cream• ½ tsp caramel sauce• Heath English Toffee bar Pour freshly brewed coffee into your favorite mug. Add brown sugar, vanilla extract, Torani syrup, and milk or cream. Microwave for about 30 seconds, stir until sugar dissolves. Top with whipped cream, caramel sauce, and crushed toffee.
