new year, new you

This issue hits just when many of us are thinking about what we want to accomplish in 2020. Whether you want to start working out more, try something new, or simply use up your stash, we chose projects that inspire those goals. For many quilters, the idea of turning our favorite hobby into a profitable career is a dream fantasized about often. We asked professional quilters for advice, and they came through for our feature “The Business of Quilting”. To go further, Vivika DeNegre discusses diversifying revenue streams in this month’s “Modern Musings”. If you just want some fun patterns to make,…

sew to speak

The Little Quilt That Could This is the second time I have made the pattern, The Little Quilt That Could, from Quiltmaker Spring/Summer ‘89. I decided to scale the original size down to be 44”x 32”, to allow for more time to add Christmas themed embellishments. Vicki Bell • Smyrna, Georgia Puppy Luv I made Puppy Luv from Quiltmaker’s January/February ‘19, for my young granddaughter. This cute puppy pattern and bright fabrics were the perfect fit and so much fun to make! Stephanie Lawrence • Shelton, Washington Snowflake Star I loved the pattern Snowflake Star from Quiltmaker November/ December ‘18 and wanted…
