It’s a shock when we get a sudden spell of hot weather, isn’t it? So eagerly awaited, yet before you know it we’re all muttering about the humidity levels. Let’s face it, working in an office on a bright day is a kind of torment, made more acute because you know everything might have changed by the weekend. The moment the sun’s out, thoughts turn to the garden and to outdoor eating: a marinated chicken or rack of ribs sizzling away to succulent perfection on the barbecue... Or, as dusk falls and fairy lights twinkle in the trees, pizzas browning in an outdoor oven. Or a basktetful of vibrant-hued tomatoes, slow-roasted, sticky and sweet.
