From 29 August to 13 September, Foraging Fortnight will include virtual outdoorsy fun as part of the Orkney International Science Festival, bringing the beauty of the islands to your fingertips. POLL OF 1,000 UK RESPONDENTS CONDUCTED BY PERSPECTUS GLOBAL IN JULY 2020 A poll by Bacardi has revealed what Brits believe are the essential ingredients for a backyard bash, with the top-rated item being sausages on the barbecue. Over 40 per cent wanted summer cocktails and 35 per cent finger sandwiches, with gin and tonics, potato salad and blankets for when it gets cold also topping the list. Among the least popular options were DJ decks, an outdoor cinema screen and a whole poached salmon – evidence that it’s the simple things that matter most.
