Welcome to a completely revamped and redesigned Die Cast X Magazine! The die cast hobby has evolved and changed greatly over the past several years and we’re here with an updated look and attitude to usher in a new age for Die Cast X as well. We’ll still have the coverage of the latest and greatest in the die cast world that you’ve come to rely on, but we’ll also include articles about the growing die cast customization movement that has engulfed our hobby. The more pieces in a die cast collection, the merrier we say. It’s not just the size of a collection that impresses, but what rare pieces are in it. Adding to that, just how a collection is displayed can provide plenty of wow factor too. We headed to Murrieta, California to visit Judson Bryan, owner of the motoring apparel and accessories brand, JDMEGO, to gawk at his remarkable die cast collection and multi-room displays. As we entered his house, we noticed not only die cast, but great artwork displayed throughout. What’s the first manufacturer that pops into mind when you hear the word, motorsports? For some it will be Ford, for others Ferrari or Porsche. For this writer it’s Honda. The marque many of us may not have initially named as a racing powerhouse is Aston Martin. That isn’t to say the historically strong motorsports brand doesn’t deserved to be named, but in the minds of many, it is synonymous with luxury coupés and plush grand tourers, now known more for its posh air and link to James Bond over hard charging racing. Don’t mistake Kaido House for some upstart newbie outfit. In fact, the brand is helmed by Jun Imai, a well respected and seasoned designer that probably has his finger prints on some of your favorite die cast cars that you may already have in your collection.
