so close. so far .

Milan is great. Beautiful Milan, with or without palm trees in Piazza Duomo. Milan is concrete. Milan is fashion. A Fashion Week full of energy and exceptional, new ideas. Having merged several events together, from fashion shows to trade fairs, and the numerous and increasingly interesting presentations of prestigious brands, this venue has made the city a first-class platform. The fashion shows are palpable. With a rare skill, they join the concept of trends with the concept of wearability and, therefore, purchasable. In perfect unison with the culture of the place. Less entertainment and more substance. Among the debuts: Francesco Risso at the helm of Marni. art of the in-between

Al Met di New York la mostra più attesa dell’anno Finally, here we are. The long-awaited exhibition on Rei Kawakubo and Comme des Garçons at the Met in New York is no longer a dream but a reality, and it will be a success - as has always occurred for such important events. Embracing a period of time that goes from the beginning of the great Japanese designer’s career, through the early eighties, up until today, the exhibition aims at reflecting on the accomplishments of the brand, which represents the quintessence of conceptual realization in the world of fashion. The pieces on display are approximately 150, and it is seemingly unrealistic that those creations, which have truly constituted a piece of fashion history - so much so as to become iconic…

La lunga evoluzione organica di David Hockney, artista caleidoscopico, è protagonista di un’importante mostra a Londra David Hockney Portrait of an Artist (Pool with Two Figures) 1971 Private Collection ©David Hockney A series of intimate portraits depicting the key figures of bohemian London and Los Angeles in the 1960’s and in the 1970’s. Natural landscapes that assume almost abstract shapes and forms. Paintings that perfectly capture the image and the idea of water in motion. A unique sense of colour, a beautiful mastery in composition, a wonderful fluency in the craftsmanship of painting, even when using the latest media such as the iPad, the iPhone and digital videocameras. These are some of, but most certainly not all, the reasons why David Hockney is regarded as one of the greatest and most popular…

erwin blumenfeld

Una mostra monografica alla Cité de la Mode et du Design a Parigi ©The Estate of Erwin Blumenfeld Erwin Blumenfeld can easily be defined as one of the greatest photographers in fashion, who managed to apply a model that almost corresponds with surrealist art, but destined for the world of fashion. A world that, however, has been yearning for innovation and new approaches towards photography ever since. His covers for Vogue - in both the US edition and the French - have made history and are still a role model for many photographers. The Cité de la Mode et du Design in Paris proposes a journey through more than six hundred photos taken from the archives of fashion photographer Erwin Blumenfeld, which also includes about thirty unpublished works. This exhibition is an…
