WHENEVER SOMEONE ASKS ME TO NAME MY FAVORITE movie, I become super queasy. I know I’m supposed to respond, “Citizen Kane,” or “Godfather II,” but the truth of the matter is that it’s When Harry Met Sally…—a film that brings me endless bliss. I have the same physiological response to the question “What’s your favorite movie ending?” “Casablanca,” I’ll say with all the enthusiasm of someone ordering a fruit plate for dessert. But actually, it’s My Best Friend’s Wedding. When George (Rupert Everett) reassures Jules (Julia Roberts), “Maybe there won’t be marriage. Maybe there won’t be sex. But by God, there’ll be dancing,” I melt. It’s a resolution that’s unexpected, yet reassuring and heartwarming. Moreover, the idea that people could find happiness with platonic love was a novel one in 1997.…

BEFORE THEY WENT ON TO WIN SCREEN ACTORS GUILD AWARDS THE FOLLOWING EVENING, Angela Bassett, Sterling K. Brown, Darren Criss, and Danai Gurira partied at Entertainment Weekly’s pre–SAG Awards event at L.A.’s historic Chateau Marmont. Guests danced to tunes spun by DJ Michelle Pesce (the Marie Kondo of DJs—she only plays songs that spark joy), munched on some glorious grilled cheese bites, and sipped Casamigos-themed cocktails. A special thanks to our presenting sponsors for their generous support: L’Oréal Paris, PopSockets, and Cadillac. ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY’S PRE–SAG AWARDS GALA LOS ANGELES GOLDING AND CRISS, CLARKSON, PAULSON AND GARNER: ANDREW TOTH/GETTY IMAGES FOR ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY (3); GURIRA AND BASSETT, KEY AND GOLDBLATT: MIKE COPPOLA/GETTY IMAGES FOR ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY (2); BATHE, BROWN, AND COX: PRESLEY ANN/GETTY IMAGES FOR ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY; GEORGE: DAVID CROTTY/PATRICK MCMULLAN VIA GETTY…

TV 1 MIRACLE WORKERS The afterlife comedy genre welcomes through its pearly gates a quirky new series about low-level angels tasked with answering prayers to save Earth from annihilation by God…as played by Steve Buscemi. (TBS, Feb. 12, 10:30 p.m.) Q+A DANIEL RADCLIFFE The genre-hopping actor (and former Harry Potter), 29, chats with EW’s Dan Snierson about his heaven-sent role You’re deciding whether to take this role. What are the angel and devil on each shoulder saying? The angel is saying, “Do it! Do it! You’d be crazy if you didn’t do it!” When I got the chance to meet Simon Rich, our show creator, I said, “If you ever do anything with that book [What in God’s Name, on which Miracle Workers is based], I would be involved in any capacity.” I’ve been a fan of…

John Mulaney…Broadway composer? The comedian co-wrote and stars in Documentary Now!’s fourth episode, “Original Cast Album: Co-Op,” a send-up of D.A. Pennebaker’s 1970 doc about Stephen Sondheim’s Company. Mulaney—a longtime Sondheim stan who made his own Broadway debut in 2016 with Oh, Hello—plays composer Simon Sawyer in the episode chronicling a demanding, all-night recording session for Sawyer’s latest musical Co-Op. (“I’d imagine some people not familiar with New York apartment buildings could call it Coop, and that’s why the hyphen is such a big deal to us,” Mulaney explains.) The comic co-wrote Co-Op’s songs alongside Seth Meyers by selecting actual Sondheim tracks, writing new lyrics, and then sending drafts off to composer Eli Bolin and orchestrator Mike Pettry, who set them to new music. “Those original demos also contain my dog…
