eyes on the (top) prize

“I started as a pro when I was 19 years old and I’m 34 now, so this is my 16th year playing professionally. I don’t see myself winding down yet, though; I recently signed a two-year contract. The minute I feel unable to keep up, I’ll know. As you get older, you need to get smarter. There are things I used to do on the court that I can’t do now, but I’ve been able to maintain my speed, which has been crucial to my longevity. I keep myself in good shape. I became a father in 2013 and having a family has taught me to be more patient, but also helped me realise how much I love the game, which is why I’m so happy to still be playing at this…

Tamra Judge The pint-sized, baptised and highly prized OC Housewife keeps it interesting with a mix of docos, drama – and a couple of reality shows for good measure My current Foxtel TV obsession is… The Real Housewives of Orange County of course! When I watch television I must have… a glass of wine. My favourite kind of TV program is… We’re kind of, like, nerdy in my family – we watch a lot of documentaries. My daughter loves it, so we’ll binge-watch it together. I was watching The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I love that. But Big Little Lies was…

becoming catherine

Most actresses baulk at filming sex scenes. Not Helen Mirren – the wickedly funny 74-year-old English Dame found herself bedding not one, but two men in her titular role as Catherine the Great. “I loved every minute of it,” Mirren reveals with a chuckle. “Catherine was a serial monogamist and one of her lines was: ‘I’m in love with love.’ She was a woman who always wanted to have a man but she didn’t want to relinquish power. She loved sex and she loved a sexual relationship but when she wanted to get rid of them after, she’d give them palaces or something. She even gave one guy [Stanisław August Poniatowski] a country, making him King of Poland!” Mirren, who has been in a relationship with director Taylor Hackford (Ray) since 1986…
