editor’s letter

Well, hello 2019! First up, congratulations to all our couples getting married this year – with special mention to those celebrating a new-year engagement. A massive shoutout goes to the lovely Tracey and Darren, who kindly lent us their stunning property, Cowbell Creek ( hitchedattheboomerangfarm.com ), in the Gold Coast hinterland for a full-day fashion shoot of epic proportions! Involving 10 models and hair and makeup artists, dozens of dresses, two photographers, one videographer, a drone operator and countless cows, chickens and horses, it was an amazing day. Check out the results on page 24 and head to queenslandbrides.com.au and our social channels to enjoy the extended coverage.…

SEE YOU ON THE SOUTH SIDE Our feng shui must be on point because we’ve moved around a fair bit over the years – from Daisy Hill in the ’90s, to Woolloongabba in the early noughties and later, the West End. Now? It’s Stones Corner in Brissy’s south side for us, baby. QB VINTAGE We’re getting real Kate Bush-meets-Spice Girls vibes from our Spring/ Summer 1993 cover. Very fashun. Twenty-six years ago, we looked at what was making it big in the bridal fashion world and how to keep your bridal party happy – unlike that hair, it’s a topic that never gets old. Seriously, that hair. I’LL STAND BY YOU A huge shout-out goes to the generous Queensland industry who helped us raise $3,000 at the Wedding Ladies Who Lunch with the Occasional Guy…

a-list love

“Mandy Moore’s wedding to Taylor Goldsmith! Her pink tulle Rodarte dress was a dream – that frill neck detail, the matching pink baby’s breath blooms in her hair, the glittery eyes!” Chelsea, production coordinator “Harry and Meghan’s wedding, not just for its understated elegance, rogue reverend and eco-chic details, but because their union was full of love and hope.” Penny, sub editor “I’m still living for the wedding of Logan Huffman and Lisa Origliasso! The old-world glamour, the Montville location and the bride’s reception dress was everything. Of course, Harry and Meghan’s wedding was a highlight – much Champagne and admittedly a few tears.” Emily, feature writer “The colour, the extravagance, the costume changes, the joy! It has to be Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ Indian/ Western wedding – an epic celebration.” Nicole, deputy editor…
