The weekend is a time we've come to know and love. As kids, it was when the family was around to take us to the park, and Friday had that 'school's out' vibe! We looked forward to lazy mornings, meeting friends, spending pocket money, or maybe earning our own doing a Saturday job. Only as adults do we fully appreciate the magic of the weekend, as we try to fit in all the chores we couldn't get done in the week, or spend quality time with loved ones. YOU WILL NEED ■ Various print fabrics for clamshells, 66 pieces each 3½in square ■ Background fabric 15in square ■ Two pieces of fabric for cushion back each 15in x 10in ■ Card 3in square ■ Glue ■ Aluminium foil about ½yd ■ Matching cotton thread ■ Variegated perle cotton No.8 in pink, orange and green (optional) ■ Two buttons (optional) ■ Cushion pad 14in square FINISHED SIZE ■ 14in square NOTES ■ Neutral coloured thread should work with most of the clamshells but some darker fabrics may require matching thread. ■ Choose quite a busy background fabric rather than a solid, so it blends in with your clamshells.
