I can’t help it – I love boat shows. People who share the same passion converge in one place, and you get to see, touch and feel beautiful boats, sometimes even hop on a ride. Around the time of the Miami show in February, I got to ride – nay, fly – on an electric foiling tender from Candela. It felt good to reach 26 knots, leaving no wake or fumes behind. I was a convert until a day later at the show when, unexpectedly, I was stopped in my tracks by the looks of a boat from Formula, a company that the Don of speed (last name Aronow) started in 1962 in Miami and sold to Thunderbird a couple of years later.
