I fondly remember one of my first trips to Turkey to visit shipyards there. I went to Numarine, which was already a dynamic yacht builder but it was mostly known for its colorful and speedy fiberglass boats. I was amazed that they had settled on top of a hill, a fair distance above the harbor. To launch their boats, they had to transport them to a slipway adjacent to a shipyard that worked with the navy. I did not think about that when I raised my phone to snap a photo of the bright orange Numarine that was being floated that day, very close to a sleek and, as it turned out, secret frigate.
