proper enthusiasts!

It’s always a pleasure to see the Proctor family, who always greet you with a smile and a hello and who are part of the East Anglian preservation fabric. They support so much and run the three-day, July Weeting Steam and Vehicle Rally tractor section so well – an event that has grown in leaps and bounds since they took it over. Stephen was out with his wife’s blue 1948 Ferguson TE-D at the excellent Suffolk Ploughing Championship event on Sunday 8 March near Bury St Edmunds, and the outfit certainly looked the part.…

editor’s welcome

Hi everyone, Well I write this on May Day in changeable weather conditions and most of the county is still in Covid-19 lockdown, but there are little rays of hope of things getting back to some semblance of normal life. However, quite frankly, I feel life will never be quite the same as it was at the beginning of March 2020, but let’s hope I am wrong! Nevertheless life on the farm has to carry on as best it can and, to that end, many of you have been working as normal through these torrid times. The mixed farm was run by Mr Duggan and his son and was located in the south of the island near Ballasalla. Mr Duggan owned an MF 135 tractor and two-furrow competition plough, which he competed with at ploughing matches both on the Isle of Man and mainland…

mf restart production at beauvais

The tractor manufacturing activities have been on hold since March 17 at Beauvais in northern France. Since the start of the crisis, Massey Ferguson has faced the coronavirus threat head-on, to keep teams, dealers and customers safe, whilst also ensuring continuous dealer and customer support. From supporting our farmers and protecting the food supply in this time of uncertainty, to help in the community with initiatives, such as donations of masks, gloves, overalls and 3D printed face shields to support our local Healthcare heroes. From February, the AGCO and Massey Ferguson management committee took further measures, such as remote working when the activity allows, and protective measures, which go above and beyond the recommendations of the health authorities in the event of a necessary on-site presence, as is the case at our…

mf make face masks

While the AGCO MF Beauvais facility was shut down from 18 March because of the coronavirus situation, it used the 3D printing capacity on site to donate full face shields to its local community medical staff heroes, working hard to save lives from the Coronavirus pandemic. The project was initiated after 3D Natives learned from Caen’s Hospital that, due to increased pressure on resources, the hospital was really short on protective equipment. ‘Les Visières de l’Espoir’ – ‘Hope’s Face Shields’ leverages the powerful action of a network of France-based companies, putting together their skills and additive manufacturing capacities to respond to the immediate demand of 13,000 face shields, coming from 94 hospitals and medical centres across France.…
