The Stamford Pottery Market returns to The Stamford Arts Centre in its regular calendar slot in May. On the 1st and 2nd of May, around 25 local potters will display and sell their work at this two-day celebration of ceramics. There will be a huge range of pottery creations to suit everyone, from beautiful domestic ware to quirky ornaments and sculptures. Potters love to talk about their work and how it's been made, so this provides an opportunity for visitors to chat with the makers about their different techniques. There will be a charity raffle of items made by the organising potters in aid of Stamford MindSpace. The MPA is holding an audience with Harriet Coleridge and Dr Robin Wilson on Sunday, June 12th, at the Sundragon Community Pottery in Birmingham. Harriet will be joined by Dr Robin Wilson of Oxford Wytham Studio and Department of Anthropology and the Oxford Anagama project, an international forum with active participation from UK and Japanese potters, whose practical research links both materials and processes. The day holds extensive talks, illustrations and examples of different gas and anagama flamefired techniques, Shino glazes, carbon trap shinos and much more from these well-respected professionals. The Anglian Potters Spring Exhibition returns to the huge space of The Undercroft Gallery in the market square in Norwich after a two-year absence. The show runs from Saturday, April 9th to Sunday, April 24th, every day from 10am-4.30pm. Over 50 potters will be showing a huge variety of work, and a special display of teapots will be on show. These teapots were made by members responding to a challenge set out by Keith Brymer-Jones when he visited for a demo with the Anglian Potters group earlier in the year.
