Irecently set our expert on archive recordings Rob Cowan a challenge – and he then set me, all of us in fact, one in return. I invited him to come up with a list of 20 superb artists who for reasons varied – sometimes tragic, sometimes simply to do with the vagaries of fortune – are either unknown, or known only to a limited number of aficionados.
