Tina Turner turned to rock ‘n’ roll. Madonna had her Ray of Light. Mariah found Emancipation. Miley Cyrus delivered Bangerz. Beyoncé served Lemonade. Every so often, there comes a point in a diva’s career when they take a giant leap into new territory. Not so much a turning away from the past, but more embracing the future and redefining their place in the industry. This issue, Attitude takes a confident stride forward with a new look, format and content. It comes 18 months after Stream Publishing bought the title — somewhat unbelievably bringing the magazine under gay ownership for the first time. Stream owner Darren Styles previously published his own gay magazine, Winq, and rather than produce two competing gay titles, it made better business sense to merge the brands, bringing the…

JACK BRETT ANDERSON With cheekbones that could slice through butter, an electric on-screen energy, and fresh from acclaimed stints on the London stage, London-born Jack Brett Anderson is now appearing opposite a still-DILFy Antonio Banderas in Genius: Picasso, afiery retelling of the artist’s life. In the role of bisexual thief and conman Géry Pieret, Jack’s performance showcases star-making charisma — but honestly, he could read the phone book and we’d still be smitten. Increasingly, I think not. And here’s why. There’s a gold standard peer-support service called Project 100, provided nationally by Positively UK. It’s excellent. But all the other HIV charities try to do the same or even copy Positively UK, whether contracted to do so or not. So, why not just get Positively UK to do it? They’d do the job better and for less. The National Aids Trust (NAT) has the best policy, lobbying and campaigning teams — look at the success it had in getting the NHS to provide PrEP in England. But the Terrence Higgins Trust (THT)…
