awesome vacation in the dominican republic!

Every summer we go to Canada’s Wonderland, but the summer of 2015 would be different. My mom announced that we were going to the Dominican Republic. Now that’s a great summer! Don’t get me wrong I do like riding the roller coasters, but the Dominican is in the Caribbean; it’s another country! My mom, brothers, and I arrived on the flight in the Dominican in the afternoon. I stepped out of the plane and breathed in the warm humid air. We got into a taxi and went to the resort where we would stay for the rest of the week. That week, I swam like a fish. I was in the pool every single day! I love to swim. There were so many people in the pool I could hardly step in…

my school adventures frof canada to nigeria and back!

In 2012, my dad went on a sabbatical in Nigeria for 2 years, and we all got to go with him! My dad is a professor. A sabbatical is when a professor takes time away from teaching to do research. We left in early September so we could arrive the day before my new school started. I was so excited I barely slept on the plane! The next day we arrived at our new house in Nigeria. I got to pick my bedroom first. It had so pink walls with a canopy bed, a closet, a small desk and my very own bathroom! I laid out my favorite outfit for school - dark grey capris, an undershirt, my favorite loose tshirt and completed the look with my favorite shoes, Rocky’s…

weird question people ask about my hair!

Black Girls are generally born with luscious, thick, and very curly hair. To manage our hair, we tend to wear extensions or in some cases “weave” our hair. There are many cool and different hairstyles we make with our hair and that’s a little something that makes us unique. Usually we get our hair done with several tiny braids that take long hours to attach, but in the end it’s worth it. Due to the fact that many people in our city don’t really know how we maintain our hair they ask several questions about how it’s made, and if “it’s real”. To be honest, coming from me, I can say those questions become irritang aer a while. One of the most ridiculous questions someone ever asked me is “Can…

how to make natural makeup

When girls start their makeup stage they are not aware of the cruel and harsh chemicals hidden inside the makeup. These chemicals can lead to pimples and acne. Don’t feel down, because there is a solution. It’s the natural way! Cocoa powder is a great powder foundation. The ingredients\supplies needed for this natural makeup are: - 100% cocoa powder (which has Vitamin A) - Compact case - Rubbing alcohol 91% - Bowl - Spoon and paper towel First, take your compact case and fill it with cocoa powder to the top. Get bowl and pour the powder inside. Add one spoon of rubbing alcohol and mix well. Use spoon to put the powder and rubbing alcohol in the case. Take paper towel and place it on the foundation, then close case. Leave overnight. Now you have…

awesome camp experience!

It was a Sunday morning. I ran down the stairs at my house and shouted, "yuppie, it’s kids camp today!" I had packed the night before, so I quickly had a shower and we left for camp. We arrived in Paris, Ontario about 3 hours later. The youth pastor led us to our dorm. I was going to share a dorm with my sister and two of my friends. Later that night, I was too excited to sleep, but I eventually did. When I woke up the next morning I was still bursting with excitement, I started jumping up and down on my bed! The day was filled with church activities, games like capture the flag where we played to win candy. That was the best part! All the candy I…
