awesome in dubai

Hi guys, it’s your girl Taylor! I spent my 2016 Christmas in Dubai, and here is what I learnt: Dubai is the richest country that I have ever visited. It is one of the seven nations that make up the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The president of the U.A.E is Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan (a mouthful, right?). The tallest man-made sky scraper in the world is situated in Dubai. It is called the Burj Khalifa. It is 828 m (2717 ft.) high. Dubai has the world’s first manmade island called the Palm. It also has the world’s biggest mall called the Dubai Mall. The population of Dubai is 2.736 million people. Religion: Islam Language: Arabic Currency: Dirhams In Dubai, there are ATMs that dispense gold bars! That’s crazy, OMG! Because of…

the u.a.e!

When I finally got to my seat, waiting for me were a neck pillow, a plush blanket, and a pair of headphones. On the back of the seat in front of me was a touchscreen, and a handheld remote. There were different power outlets on the frame of the screen so we could easily charge our devices. Soon, the flight attendants came around with our menu. Taylor wasn’t too enthusiastic about trying Lamb Biryani, but I was all for it because I love South Asian food. I was most impressed and surprised that the utensils were proper silverware, and the water was in a travel sized bottle. I hungrily ate all my food. Dessert was lemon meringue pie and it was delicious! The flight attendants came with our drink orders. I…

one love jamaica!

Jamaica is a great place to go with your family. Most of my family comes from Jamaica. I think that they do not like cold weather, that’s why we went back to visit. We left Canada around 1:30 am on New Years eve, 2016. When we arrived in Jamaica, it took us 3 hours to get out of the airport because our plane was delayed, and there were a lot of people at the airport at that time. My uncle picked us up and we went to his house. We went straight to bed. The next day, we drove 2 hours from Kingston to Mandeville to visit my aunt and her family. The roads were really bumpy but the scenery was very pretty. We saw many domestic animals like goats, chickens…

four top cities to visit in nigeria

I recently went to my home country, Nigeria, and I thought I should tell you about the most fab cites there. 1. Minna, a city in Niger State, Northern Part of Nigeria. I had so much fun there! The people are so kind and helpful! They have so many Mr. Biggs restaurants, the Nigerian McDonalds equivalent. I had a blast there with my cousins! The hotels are fun too. I went swimming and a man saved my little sister’s life when she drifted to the deep end! I hung out with my cousins and we played everyday till about 4:00 pm, then we watched TV. I often fell asleep at this time because I was still on Canadian time! 2. Owerri, a city in Imo State, Eastern Part of Nigeria Ahhh… the capital of state.…

cool pets

My dog Lucky From the time I was little, I loved animals. I always begged my mom and dad to get a dog or a cat, but every time they said, “NO”! Eventually, they agreed to get a dog if my brothers and I would take care of him. They told us that there would be challenges and rewards. We agreed. We finally got a Yorkshire Terrier called Lucky!! Caring for Lucky is a huge responsibility. We must take him for walks, feed him, bathe him, train him and play with him too! The most challenging part of caring for Lucky was potty training. Neither my brothers nor I wanted to clean up his mess. We were always arguing about whose turn it was to clean up. We were constantly reminded…

bgm gals money tips

Offer to help around the house and earn money from your parents. Don’t waste your money on stuff like candy and chips. They are really bad for your teeth anyway. Re-use things you already have whenever possible. Don’t eat out too often at fast food joints (ya, you KNOW which ones I mean). Try to eat at home more often. Put your money in a place where it won’t be tempting to spend it. Just don’t hide it too well and forget where you put it. DIY (Do-IT-Yourself) whenever possible. You can make your own beauty products from things you already have at home. Some DIY examples are in this issue. Try to watch movies at home as much as possible. The movies at the movie theatres are really really expensive especially when you add popcorn,…
