star rating system for fuel station restrooms

During the many hours whilst in the driving seat one finds oneself mentally analysing various issues experienced during your trip. One being that of when there are women travellers accompanying you, what condition the restroom would be in. One considers whether it is better to stop on the side of the road, or rather risk contamination from a dirty toilet (from an ablution point of view). If one could in advance have an indication of a rating for a restroom, one could certainly factor this in during their trip. I am confident it would be beneficial to the fuel stations if a magazine recommends their cleanliness, which would make a difference whilst travelling. DIFFERENT STROKES I have been perusing the January edition of Caravan & Outdoor Life with regards to the article “Dream come true”, and I must admit it’s all good and well spending this kind of money on a 4x4 truck and have a camper built on it, but will this really be camping in the true spirit of camping? With 4x4 you can go almost anywhere. But is this the case? It boils down to “where do you want to go”. If you really want to get down and dirty, I think (from the look of the picture) the breakover angle will be very little and thus you will beach this truck (if it doesn’t crush the boxes mounted between the wheels). We would like to respond to and thank Gustav Marais for his input encouraging us to obtain a PDP licence in order to avoid problems at police checkpoints. Our vehicle was classified as a goods vehicle but subsequently re-registered as a motorhome by Travel-Star Motorhome specialists. There are some points with the motorhome classification which should also be taken into account: 1. The vehicle does not need to go for a roadworthy test every two years. Besides the cost factor, the major irritation is once again the long queues at the inspection departments which are onerous; 2. The continual renewal every two years of your PDP driving licence is an extremely frustrating affair, where once again you queue for up to a day to be served by an arrogant municipal worker who feels that…
