oh, happy day!

Getting engaged is a seriously magical time. Yes, it means you’re madly in love with your soulmate, but that’s just the beginning! One of the coolest parts is how ridiculously excited other people are for you. Mates you haven’t seen for years will send you digital Congrats! on Facebook and your mum’s best friend’s next-door neighbours will pen you notes wishing you all kinds of luck. Even your local barista spots the shiny new ring and asks you to tell the story! But the really special part is all the love from family and friends that envelopes the two of you like a big warm hug! You’ll feel it tenfold on the actual day, FYI. While you’re in that bridal love-bubble, take a moment to ask married pals for their finest…

I’ve always been obsessed with flowers. My love of flowers first began with my grandmother, who’s a florist. I started working with her when I was 14, and my parents have always had a garden. While studying interior architecture, I was also working as a part-time florist. I decided to bail on uni and focus just on flowers. It was 12 years ago now! I worked in lots of amazing flower shops in Sydney and Berlin. That was before deciding I really had a passion for weddings and events. So with the help of my husband, I set up my online space. I’ve been operating online and from my studio for a little over a year now. My style of wedding floristry is loose, crazy, and I really love using a lot…

Alistair: No matter what I’m doing, I love being creative in all aspects of life. With photography, I’m always thinking creatively first of all, and on any given day shooting, I’ll try to make an average landscape look magical. Photographers love the technical side of their cameras, and I really enjoy that, too, so I’m always exploring new technology and techniques. But the camera is just a means to an end. Having a vision of what I want to achieve creatively before the shoot and then seeing the shots looking great in post-production is very satisfying. A: Weddings are a fast-moving live event with a lot of energy. As a wedding photographer, I’m an art director, social coordinator, stylist, lighting expert as well as being a portrait, product and landscape photographer!…

I’ve never really followed seasonal fashion. But I’ve always loved how different kinds of luxurious fabrics and shapes can make women feel beautiful, and can complement their figure, skin and mood. I get my deep appreciation for French lace from my mum, grandmother and great-grandmother. I used to sit with my mum (who is now the head designer for GLL), completely in awe as she chose new laces each season for her lingerie business. I grew up between Australia and Europe, which has given me a well-rounded perspective on how important fashion is in our lives. Working for small boutique labels gave me invaluable experience liaising closely with design and production teams. Everything from purchasing fabrics to how patterns are made and how fabrics are laid and cut. Then there’s garment…
