APP OF THE MONTH 2001: A Space Odyssey's HAL is one of the most iconic artificial intelligences in science fiction. This new Mac game puts you in a similar situation to Dave Bowman, where you must build a relationship with a lonely spaceship computer, only this time to help get you home. You interact with the computer, named Kaizen, by typing messages on retro-styled terminals throughout the ship. You explore the ship in first person, logging in to terminals in each room and figuring out your next steps through a mixture of examining each environment, solving puzzles and computer hacking.
