welcome

It’s around about this time every year that I make my annual promise to get less stressed. The very thought of being wound up by work deadlines, familial demands and domestic duties… well, the New Year Me laughs in the face of that. Of course the New Year Me is just the old me with a glass of wine in her hand and a view of the ocean. Take them away and it’s business as usual. positive effects

Winning letter The article on Renee Wright was delightful to read. What an interesting person, we love watching her present the weather. One sentence resonated with us – I had been asking my husband to book in for a colonoscopy for weeks and when he read that Renee had booked herself in for one, he thought about it for a day or so and made an appointment. His procedure is next week. Renee, your action has encouraged others and this could even be a life-saver as he has been ignoring symptoms, which hopefully will turn out not to be serious. Thank you for speaking so frankly and openly about health problems, it can have a positive effect on some people. We look forward to seeing you on our screens for quite…

seriously funny

MY WORKING WEEK… Is increasingly varied. I still work as team leader at the amazing community-based early childhood centre Adelaide ECC, so normally I get out of bed and walk 10 minutes down the road with the hope of inspiring young minds. With the acting/TV malarky, it’s very much a potpourri. I’ve spent more time in Auckland in the past year than ever before, and with Wellington Paranormal have had to become accustomed to an 11 and three-quarter-hour work day. That said, I’m very fortunate because neither of my jobs feel like work. They are both a pleasure. Oh and I’m in a kids’ band called Fun & Funner. My band mate/ECC colleague and friend Tom Watson and I are about to release our debut album Better Than Normal. When I’m…
