Usually recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs) are seen as the domain of petrolheads and their gas-guzzlers. But luxury vehicle brand Lexus has never kowtowed to convention. With its brand new ROV Concept, it has created an exhilarating off-road vehicle that comes with none of the guilt. Its hydrogen-powered engine purrs like a petrol combustion engine and offers responsive torque while contributing close to zero emissions. But anyone expecting the kind of milquetoast design common to some EVs has a surprise coming to them: the ROV Concept is a rugged beast, featuring a hardy tubular frame to protect the driver, beefy off-road tyres and significant front-suspension travel to cushion you from the bumpiest drive.
