As demand for specialist combine harvester headers has increased in recent years, Fendt is now expanding its range to include headers from Geringhoff. A density-based intelligent spray control system for fruit and nut growers developed by Indiana-based Smart Guided Systems will be sold and serviced in Australia through John Deere dealers under a new global agreement, the company says. Also available through Haeusler’s Equipment and BAPumps, the Smart-Apply system uses light detection ranging (LiDAR) technology in an after-market add-on for conventional air blast sprayers, towed after tractors in horticulture production. The system senses the density of the target plant and the outline of the tree canopy in order to spray the exact amount necessary to cover it.
