bringing sexy back

The country has been very divided in this election year. Disagreements and differences in opinions are hallmarks of democracy, but I hope we at People have made one decision that everyone can agree on: Michael B. Jordan is 2020’s Sexiest Man Alive. After weeks of tension and anxiety, America can come together and enjoy the fun escapism of reveling in Mike’s sexiness for the next year. Yes, like his friends, I call him Mike … His appeal speaks for itself: his warm smile and that body in Creed that left viewers swooning or feeling jealous. This is a man to lust after even when he’s playing a bad guy, like Black Panther’s villain Erik Killmonger. But being sexy also means being a man for our times, and Mike is that. He’s a…

After 15 years Grey’s Anatomy still knows how to shock fans. On Nov. 12 the ABC medical drama’s season 17 premiere concluded with a dream sequence featuring the return of Patrick Dempsey as Dr. Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd—and his reunion with Ellen Pompeo’s Meredith Grey—more than five years after Shepherd’s sudden death. “It was my job to find a way—once we determined that we were doing the pandemic—to also bring joy and escape and fan candy,” showrunner and executive producer Krista Vernoff told Deadline. Pompeo herself asked Dempsey to come back: “We knew that coming together would be a little ray of light.” Dempsey, 54, and Pompeo, 51, admitted to Deadline that they hadn’t spoken in “a while,” but that their reunion was both “very healing” and “rewarding.” The show has gone…

lena dunham reveals her struggle with infertility and ivf

In the new issue of Harper’s magazine, actress, writer and director Lena Dunham, 34, opens up about grappling with infertility. This spring, single and using donor sperm from a friend, she underwent a round of in vitro fertilization. Having already had a hysterectomy and surgery to remove one ovary because of endometriosis, she knew the odds were steep and that she’d have to use a surrogate if an embryo were created. But she was devastated when none of the eggs retrieved was viable. “Infertility has a ripple effect,” Dunham tells People. “It’s not just about not being able to have a child, it’s about feeling you don’t understand your place and your job in this world. Not understanding what your body was meant to do. There’s a great gust of…
