From cafés and art galleries tucked away in French colonial buildings, to temples with centuries-old trees and lakeside views, Hanoi is a unique melange of East and West. Our cover shoot was quite literally a walk in the park—not only because of great teamwork but also because of key locations like the Hoan Kiem lake just a stone's throw away from our hotel, the iconic Metropole. We were struck by the warmth of the local people starting, of course, with the accommodating hotel staff who all made us feel right at home. Everywhere we went, everyone—from rickshaw drivers to market vendors—was always eager to help.
