News that Paul Daniels has succumbed to the brain cancer that had only been diagnosed weeks earlier brings to an end one of the most enduring partnerships in showbiz – that of the world-renowned magician and his wifeof-28-years, and on-stage assistant, the ‘lovely Debbie McGee’. Theirs was an extraordinary love story that exceeded expectations and survived scrutiny.
