Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference English Sparkling Wine, £20 A strong aroma, with cinnamon scents. A little bitter, but plenty of bubbles.
Chapel Down Reserve Brut at bargainbooze.co.uk, £22.49 Although dry, it has a lovely, light, fruity taste, which makes it the perfect choice for any summer celebration. A real winner!
Mid-range buy
Waitrose Leckford Estate Brut, English Sparkling Wine, £24.99 A nutty aroma. This is fruity and citrussy rather than sweet, and the fizz is long-lasting.
Harvey Nichols English Sparkling Brut NV at Ocado, £27.50 Pale yellow nectar. Sweet, creamy, and the bubbles are so bubbly, they actually fizz!
